CohBar Added to Russell 2000® Index

MENLO PARK, Calif., June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CohBar, Inc. (NASDAQ:CWBR), an innovative biotechnology company developing mitochondria based therapeutics (MBTs) to treat age-related diseases, was added to the US small-cap Russell 2000® Index during the 2018 Russell indexes reconstitution, effective after the US market opens on June 25. Membership in the Russell 2000® Index, which remains in place for at least one year, is based on membership in the broad-market Russell 3000® Index.  CohBar was also added automatically to the appropriate Russell growth and value indexes.

“Our addition to the Russell 2000® and the Russell 3000® Indexes represents a significant milestone for CohBar with the investment community,” said Simon Allen, CohBar CEO. “We believe that it reflects the growing awareness and support from investors of our rapid progress towards human clinical studies with our first mitochondria based therapeutic candidate for NASH and obesity, and of the therapeutic potential of our large early-stage pipeline of mitochondrial peptides. We continue to focus our unique technology and discoveries on the enormous unmet medical needs caused by age-related diseases, while creating significant value for our investors.”

About CohBar

CohBar is an innovative biotechnology company focused on the research and development of mitochondria based therapeutics (MBTs), an emerging class of drugs for the treatment of age-related diseases. MBTs originate from the discovery by CohBar’s founders of a novel group of peptides within the mitochondrial genome which regulate metabolism and cell death, and whose biological activity declines with age. CohBar’s efforts focus on the development of these mitochondrial-derived peptides (MDPs) into clinically relevant MBTs that offer the potential to address a broad range of age-related diseases with underlying metabolic dysfunction, including obesity, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), Type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. To date, the company and its founders have discovered more than 100 MDPs. For additional company information, please visit www.cohbar.com.
